“Join in! / Let’s connect” – this is the title of the project weeks that socioMovens has already carried out in Hungary. Similar to the days in other Central and Eastern European countries, the main focus here is on shared experiences and the associated strengthening of social awareness. The project work kicked off in the Szeged region. Together, the participants also visited numerous social institutions in the area (such as a retirement home or a house for the homeless). They also had the chance to exchange with experts and those affected, who reported on their work with those affected and in need. A popular programme feature is the “Living Library”, where the young people can literally “read” the life stories of some of the people invited, who were able to tell them about their very special lives in various ways.

In 2018 the Hungarian socioMovens-community hosted the networks second international youth meeting. Following the aim to establish a “Compact for Europe” young people from all over the network met. The cooperation with the arts performing group „Gen Verde“ inspired the participants to advocate for a social Europe connecting the diverse local realities of volunteering.

Recently alumni of the group in Szeged have been implementing a first project week in Pécs in cooperation with the KathIfi youth group and the Caritas of the Diocese of Pécs. In this context, a new cooperation between socioMovens and the institutions was agreed.
