We are now thrilled to announce the call for applications and nominations for the first edition of our socioMovens.awards (Volunteer of the Year and Team of the Year)!
These new awards celebrate individuals and teams who have made a significant impact through their voluntary work, demonstrating creativity, dedication, and a commitment to reducing social inequality or fostering youth engagement.
Award Categories & Prizes
- Volunteer of the Year (Individual)
- Team of the Year (2–4 members)
Each award includes
- Prize of 500 euro, to be used for further voluntary or youth education projects
- Certificate of recognition
- Ceremony at our Empower! Youth Festival in Slovakia
- Featuring in social media and press releases.
- Reporting on the use of the prize money
- [Note: Prizes cannot be split.]
Eligibility & Application Process
Who can apply or be nominated?
- Individuals or teams (2–4 members) aged 14 to 30
- Those who have made a substantial contribution and taken on responsibility in their voluntary work
How to apply?
- Self-applications (with a reference person) and nominations are equally welcome – both can be send to info@sociomovens.de!
- Include a short description of the work of the proposed volunteering initiative in 2025/26 (in the case of self-nominations also provide us with a reference person, we may contact).
- Application deadline: 31st of May 2026
How do we look at volunteering?
We recognize voluntary work that is:
- Voluntarily chosen and not motivated by material gain
- Primarily unpaid and for the common good
- Organized cooperatively or communally
- Based on democratic and Christian values
Selection Criteria
We are looking for initiatives and personalities that demonstrate:
- Impact: Contribution to reducing social inequality and/or increasing youth engagement
- Creativity & Innovation: Fresh approaches and original ideas
- Sustainability: Long-term commitment and lasting effects
Selection Process
A jury (comprising chairs of the foundation’s board, advisory board, board of trustees, and international association) will review all submissions.
